Where did I go?
A brief update on my latest project: THE REALIGNMENT
Fanatical followers of my work—i.e., subscribers to this newsletter—may have noticed that I haven’t had a byline in a while. That’s because, about a month ago, I left my job at the Wall Street Journal to work on a new book project. Here’s the publisher’s announcement:
Senior political correspondent at the Wall Street Journal and author of PELOSI Molly Ball’s THE REALIGNMENT, a reported narrative tracing the demographic and ideological rearrangement of US politics in the past 20 years, arguing that it is both intertwined and ongoing, told through the stories of the people on the ground—YIMBY housing activists, public-health contrarians, New Right intellectuals, free trade skeptics, trustbusting anticorporatists and others—who have been redefining the political spectrum, and possibly creating a new, more enlightened, political and social order, to Serena Jones at Holt, by Howard Yoon at WME (NA).
I’m extremely excited about this project. Here are a few FAQs:
Are you on book leave?
Nope! I left the WSJ to work on this project full time.
Can I hire you to write for my publication?
Possibly! I’m trying to focus on the book and not take too many assignments at the moment, but feel free to reach out.
Are you available for media and speaking appearances?
Possibly! See above.
When can I read THE REALIGNMENT?
Look for it in 2027! Until then, check out my newly redesigned website, and please keep in touch with thoughts, tips and ideas. You can reach me at molly@mollyball.com.
